The plan of this article is to discuss the assessment component part of the Competency and Confidence devise (C^2). C^2 was a collaborative effort between the Colorado sect of Mines (CSM) and the Jefferson shire School District (JCS). CSM provided the cast experts in mathematics content and instructional pedagogy; JC provided adroit mathematics teachers. These individuals worked together to create the C^2 workshops.
