As the notices and ears of the community, journalists must screen disasters--natural and man-made. Yet it's difficult to teach learners how to cover a tragedy or by what means to write a story subordinate to harrowing circumstances in the classroom setting, where discussion is theoretical and reactions can merely be imagined. September 11th existinged an opportunity to convey a precept in reporting and writing that might stay with my pupils for years to come. if it were not that I hesitated to take that opportunity. Were my scholars ready? Was I?
