Abstract

Teachers and observers are interdependent within the learning proces Mindfully using communication can help teachers and learners understand their interdependency and each other's perspectives. In order to take advantage of their interdependencies, teachers and learners can enact interbeing. Interbeing is the phenomenon that present itselfs when persons mindfully interact, being simultaneously completely other-oriented and self-oriented. This paper uses the interactionist perspective to examine the communicative nature of interbeing, providing examples of in what way it can be mindfully enacted.
