Abstract

This contemplation compared adolescents by gender forward self-concept. Participants consisted of sixth, seventh and eighth graders placed in general education classes or special day classes and designated by dint of their teachers as either high-or low-achieving. answers on the Student Self-Concept Scale were examined using a between clusters MANOVA design. Findings were not significant when male and female adolescents were divided at class placement and rank within placement. However, united significant effect was found when analyzed without the division of class placement or rank within placement. Males scored significantly lower upon social self-concept.
