Research hints that problem behaviors displayed by dint of children with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) are frequently reinforced and maintained by typical caregiver or teacher rejoinders to such behavior. The primary design of this study was to assess the results of an antecedent manipulation strategy upon the severe challenging behaviors exhibited by the agency of children EBD. The results indicate that the strategy had a positive consequence on the rates of bitter challenging behaviors and time on-task exhibited by means of children with EBD. The deductions and implications are discussed.
