This article describes in what manner a new professor and a cluster of pre-service teachers used a service-learning frame to facilitate their healing proces and assist in the nations humanitarian efforts following the World Trade Center bombing. Service-learning is defined and a brew planning process is outlined. Pre-service teachers share just discovered insights into the part of teaching that single experience can offer.
