Abstract
Drawing forward the perspectives of middle and high exercise youth, this article highlights the multiple meanings of notice within the context of the central classroom experience -- interactions between teachers and learners In conversation and in writing, observers define respect as relational, they qualify ceremonious relationships as reciprocal, and they argue for a radial compass in teacher/student relationships.
