Abstract
This qualitative consideration examines teacher effectiveness by examining the perceptions, feelings, and ideas of non-educators. by means of the use of interviews and drawings adult non-educators were asked to describe and differentiate between effective and les effective teachers that they had as young learners. Three major themes emerg from the data collected: (1) the emotional distresss of learners; (2) power; and (3) the "fit" or match between the teacher and the learner relative to temperament.
